TEAM DIVISIONS & SUB-DIVISIONS

For athletes of all skill sets from RX, scaled, novice, to those with special needs. There is a division for all. All teams consist of 2 individuals. All teams can consist of male-male, female-female, or male-female. Regardless of team makeup, only the top 3 teams per will medal.

 

Our Co-Ability divisions include several different sub-divisions to make sure each athlete can compete to the best of their ability.

Team Divisions Descriptions

RX means the athlete performs all movements using the prescribed weights and repetitions. These athletes have high level CrossFit experience.

 

Registration: $400 per team

Prize Purse:

  1. $2000
  2. $1500
  3. $1000

Scaled is a modification of the RX version, but not necessarily an easier version. It is tailored to fit athletes at this level using their prescribed weights, repetitions, and movements. Athletes in this division have done CrossFit in the past or are currently participating in CrossFit.

 

Registration: $400 per team

Prize Purse:

  3. $1000

General Physical Preparation, also known as GPP, is the general focus for these athletes and the weights, repetitions, and movements reflect this. Athletes in this division are newer to CrossFit or haven’t ever tried CrossFit.

 

Registration: $250 per team

Prize Purse:

  1. $1000
  2. $500
  3. $300

A team of two adults:

  • An adult with special needs who must be 21 and out of school
  • An adult with neurotypical abilities who is 18 or older and not in high school

Sub Divisions for this division include the following:

Adult Co-Ability Sub-Divisions 

  1. Adult Co-Ability A– no physical limitations, differentiated learning abilities, able to follow directions, but may have difficulty in self-regulation, executive functioning skills, and verbal/non-verbal communication.
  2. Adult Co-Ability B – no physical limitations, communication may limit verbal processing, difficulty in self-regulation, executive functioning skills, and verbal/non-verbal communication. May require more verbal or visual support from neurotypical athlete for counting of repetitions, or hand over hand physical prompting to continue through movements.
  3. Adult Co-Ability C Upper Body Use Only– Physical limitations such as limited to no leg or lower body control. Athlete may use a manual or motorized wheelchair, walker, or crutch for everyday use. May require verbal directions and visual cueing for understanding.
  4. Adult Co-Ability C Lower Body Use Only– Physical limitations such as limited to no arm or upper body control, lack of core control, etc. May require verbal directions and visual cueing for understanding.
  5. Adult Co-Ability D Upper Body Use Only – Physical limitations such as limited to no leg or lower body control. Athlete may use a manual or motorized wheelchair, walker, or crutch for everyday use. Athlete has limited communication and processing abilities. May require more verbal or visual support from neurotypical athlete for counting of repetitions, or hand over hand physical prompting to continue through movements.
  6. Adult Co-Ability D Lower Body Use Only – Physical limitations such as limited to no arm or upper body control, lack of core control, etc. Athlete has limited communication and processing abilities. May require more verbal or visual support from neurotypical athlete for counting of repetitions, or hand over hand physical prompting to continue through movements.

Adult Co-Ability Partner Sub Divisions: 

  1. Adult Co-Ability Novice- General Physical Preparation, also known as GPP, is the general focus for these athletes and the weights, repetitions, and movements reflect this. Athletes in this division are newer to CrossFit or haven’t ever tried CrossFit.
  2. Adult Co-Ability Scaled- Scaled is a modification of the RX version, but not necessarily an easier version. It is tailored to fit athletes at this level using their prescribed weights, repetitions, and movements. Athletes in this division have done CrossFit in the past or are currently participating in CrossFit.
  3. Adult Co-Ability RX- RX means the athlete performs all movements using the prescribed weights and repetitions. These athletes have high level CrossFit experience.

Registration: $100 per teammate

Prize includes gift cards from Award Sponsor – Scheels. Gift cards can be used in stores or online.

  1. $250 in Scheels gift cards per teammate

  3. $100 in Scheels gift cards per teammate

A team of two students:

  • A student with special needs who must be 21 & under and in transitional or 7-12th grade
  • A student with neurotypical abilities in 7th – 12th grade

Sub Divisions for this division include the following:

  1. Student Co-Ability Partner – All students participating in grades 7-12 as a neurotypical athlete to a Co-Ability athlete will be in the baseline tier.
  2. Student Co-Ability A– no physical limitations, differentiated learning abilities, able to follow directions, but may have difficulty in self-regulation, executive functioning skills, and verbal/non-verbal communication.
  3. Student Co-Ability B – no physical limitations, communication may limit verbal processing, difficulty in self-regulation, executive functioning skills, and verbal/non-verbal communication. May require more verbal or visual support from neurotypical athlete for counting of repetitions, or hand over hand physical prompting to continue through movements.
  4. Student Co-Ability C Upper Body Use Only– Physical limitations such as limited to no leg or lower body control. Athlete may use a manual or motorized wheelchair, walker, or crutch for everyday use. May require verbal directions and visual cueing for understanding.
  5. Student Co-Ability C Lower Body Use Only– Physical limitations such as limited to no arm or upper body control, lack of core control, etc. May require verbal directions and visual cueing for understanding.
  6. Student Co-Ability D Upper Body Use Only – Physical limitations such as limited to no leg or lower body control. Athlete may use a manual or motorized wheelchair, walker, or crutch for everyday use. Athlete has limited communication and processing abilities. May require more verbal or visual support from neurotypical athlete for counting of repetitions, or hand over hand physical prompting to continue through movements.
  7. Student Co-Ability D Lower Body Use Only – Physical limitations such as limited to no arm or upper body control, lack of core control, etc. Athlete has limited communication and processing abilities.
