Our
STORY
The ABLE Games began with a simple but powerful vision: to create a space where athletes of all abilities could compete together on the same floor at the same time. What started as a collaboration between TNT Kid's Fitness, Connor McGovern, and community leaders has grown into a groundbreaking, all inclusive fitness competition rooted in movement, teamwork, and belonging.
Now in its sixth year, the ABLE Games continues to grow in both impact and reach, bringing together athletes, volunteers, and communities who believe in the power of inclusion.
Inspired by TNT’s mission to unlock potential through movement and Connor’s passion for making fitness accessible to everyone, the ABLE Games became more than just an event. It quickly grew into a movement dedicated to inclusion, opportunity, and celebrating what every individual can do.
That impact continues to expand through ABLE in School, a first of its kind physical education program that pairs students of all abilities in peer to peer workouts, creating inclusive experiences that extend far beyond competition day.
From its beginnings in Fargo the ABLE Games is more than an event. It is a community built on connection, empowerment, and the belief that we are all able.
CONNOR
MCGOVERN
ABLE Champion
From a small town North Dakota athlete to a retired NFL player, Connor McGovern has always believed in the power of movement and competition. As a Fargo native and longtime supporter of TNT Kid’s Fitness, Connor’s involvement in ABLE Games reflects his deep commitment to giving back and creating opportunities for others.
Connor’s vision for inclusion was shaped by firsthand experiences, especially a powerful moment at a Special Olympics event that forever changed his perspective on ability. That experience, combined with his passion for athletics, fueled his desire to ensure that everyone has access to the same opportunities he has had through sport.
“I couldn’t imagine a life without physical activity, so I want to make sure everybody has that opportunity,” Connor shares.
In partnership with TNT, Connor helped bring the ABLE Games to life, creating a platform where adaptive and nonadaptive athletes compete side by side. His work also helped inspire the development of ABLE in School, expanding inclusive fitness into classrooms and communities.
Today, Connor’s impact goes far beyond football. He continues to champion a mission centered on empowerment, inclusion, and community, working to make a lasting difference in Fargo and across the country.
“I don’t want to just be a football player. I want to impact people’s lives for the positive.”
